The Crush Chameleon 100% Birch shell pack offers the time tested and proven sound of birch in a versatile configuration with a 22″ x 20″ kick, 12″ x 8″ tom, 16″ x 15″ floor tom, and 14″ x 6″ snare. These drums are built with North American birch, not birch from Asia. Birch wood produces a distinctive sound with explosive attack and deep low end.

Chameleon shell sizes have been specifically chosen to give the drummer a versatile drum set that can be played in any application. The set has been finished with durable PVC wrap that is fully glued to the shell to insure the drum shells resonate to their fullest potential. The Chameleon Birch drum shell pack also features Crush Drums and Percussion’s proprietary changeable color lugs which allow the drummer to customize their kit without having to remove the lugs from the shell.

The kit also features a proprietary suspension mounting system that integrates into the lug design. This design supports the mounted toms from two lugs without the need for contact to the drum shell for stability, which insures optimal and unrestricted resonance.

The toms feature heavy duty triple flange hoops and the snare uses Crush Drums and Percussion’s reverse flange 2.3mm hoops for added strength and projection. The mounted tom and floor tom leg brackets also features our integrated memory lock for perfect placement and added strength.

Toms feature Clear Remo Pinstripe UT heads on batter side and Clear Remo Ambassador UT heads on Resonant side. Snare features Remo Coated Ambassador Head on Top and Remo Ambassador UT Snare side head. Bass Drum Features Remo Power Stroke Batter side with Remo Power Stroke Ebony Resonant side. At the heart of any virtual drum library are the actual samples themselves. Steven Slate has been called the master of drum sounds. In the early 2000s, his original drum sample disc was in high demand amongst many top Hollywood producers and mixers. By 2006, when he publicly released his first official drum sample disc, his sounds could already be heard in many top billboard hits. Today, the airwaves are filled with Steven’s samples, as they are used by top mixers such as Mike Shipley, Chris Lord-Alge, Dave Way, Jeff Juliano, Jay Baumgardner, and more. Steven has recorded only quality drums for this sample collection, all tuned to perfection. Every drum and cymbal has been recorded first to 2″ tape, enhancing their unique, rich sound. Every drum and cymbal was recorded with multiple velocities and multiple hits per velocity to ensure the most natural recreation. Then the percussion samples were transferred to digital via high-end A/D converters at 24-bit/ 44.1khz. The samples were then processed by Steven Slate using some of the most classic analog gear from both past and present.
