DVEO to Debut Real Time MPEG-2 Logo Inserter at NAB 2011, Booth SU6911

DVEO’s MPEG-2 Logo Inserter — LogoSerterSan Diego, California – DVEO, the broadcast division of Computer Modules, Inc. (CMI), will introduce their broadcast quality MPEG-2 logo inserter at NAB 2011, April 11-14 in Las Vegas, Nevada, in booth SU6911.

Available in mid-April, the LogoSerter™ is a cost-effective software-based system that inserts a logo anywhere on MPEG-2 video content in real time. It works by decoding the transport stream, overlaying the logo, and re-encoding the result. This process is computationally intensive and requires a 6 core processor to be effective.

The LogoSerter inserts logos or text anywhere on the SD or HD live stream with any degree of transparency. The logos and text can be static or blinking. Video input and output is DVB-ASI. The system supports 1080i, 720p, and 480i.

All India Radio Awards Jampro Contract For FM Station Combiners And Patching Systems

New Delhi, India (March 29, 2011) — Jampro Antennas, Inc. of Sacramento, California announced here today that it has been awarded a contract to supply All India Radio (AIR) with over one dozen Jampro model RCCC Constant Impedance FM Bandpass Combiners and patching systems. The combiners will be installed at radio stations throughout the country.

Jampro President Alex M. Perchevitch commented on the transaction by phone: “We have been a long time partner with All India Radio (AIR) on numerous antenna projects. Their engineering division was looking for combiners with a compact design to fit in small transmitter rooms and be able provide superior performance and low loss in varying temperatures and environments. Yamaha Commercial Audio Systems to Launch Dugan-MY16 at NAB Exhibition

Small Tree’s Shared Storage Enables Generations Church to Share Word of God Quickly and Easily

For a typical weekend service at Generations Church, a contemporary house of worship in Yuma (AZ) that recently celebrated its 10th anniversary, roughly 90Gb of SD video and multi-track audio are produced and duplicated for its loyal congregation members. As the congregation’s demand for content continued to increase, so too did the challenges facing the church’s post-production team.

Working on a 2TB RAID that they were sharing over OS X AFP, the post-production projects were piling up for the Generation Church editing team. While they managed to produce quality videos for their congregation, the difficulties working across such an environment, which included dealing with system-wide crashes and lost work, were beginning to impact the team’s ability to meet pressing deadlines. Alcorn McBride Inc. introduces new features for the SetPlayer line at NAB 2011

SetPlayerAlcorn McBride (Booth SL5105) will introduce an enhanced feature set to the SetPlayer video playback line at the NAB Show in Las Vegas.

The SetPlayer(tm) series is designed for on-set video applications, providing a low cost, solid-state alternative to server channels. The single channel SetPlayer (SP1000) has a 40 Mbps maximum bitrate and works with existing VDCP controllers. New to the line is MediaFlow; a compatible encoding software which delivers a complete workflow solution. This software provides a step-by-step method for encoding any source file to transfer it to the SetPlayer unit.

All single and multi-channel SetPlayers can be controlled by existing transport controllers via VDCP or Ethernet and have a Genlock input.
